Our Tapestry Name and History

This Church was originally founded in 1995 as Northwest Community Unitarian Universalist Church, and it has been conducting itself as a church since that time. In January 2013, the Church merged with First Unitarian Universalist Church of Houston (First UU), and its name was changed to Copperfield Campus, and later Tapestry Campus, of First UU. The Church left the First UU merger in early 2019, and resumed its identity as an independent church as Tapestry Unitarian Universalist Church of Houston. We have been serving the Northwest Houston, Cypress and Katy communities since early 1995 and have been a haven for free thinkers ever since.

This beautiful tapestry was lovingly created for us by Heide Jones. Thank you, Heide, for allowing us to make it the centerpiece of our church!
