We UUs often say that deeds are more important than creeds. SEE Justice (Social, Environmental, and Economic Justice) is the faith-in-action committee of our Church that seeks to facilitate social action in accord with our faith in the power of love giving life the shape of justice, our hopes, and the seven ethical Principles that we hold in common:
1. The inherent worth and dignity of every person;
2. Justice, equity and compassion in human relations;
3. Acceptance of one another and encouragement to spiritual growth in our congregations;
4. A free and responsible search for truth and meaning;
5. The right of conscience and the use of the democratic process within our congregations and in society at large;
6. The goal of world community with peace, liberty, and justice for all;
7. Respect for the interdependent web of existence of which we are a part.

American Nepali Student & Women’s Educational Relief
by Geoff Sanders on 12/10/2025
|
 Members of our church, along with UU’s across our country, have sponsored deserving Nepalese children desiring an education. ANSWER (American Nepali Student & Women’s Educational Relief, https://answernepal.org/) is a wonderful organization. Sponsors cover the cost (currently $450/year) of sending a lower caste student to school. Sponsors also have the privilege of exchanging correspondence and photographs with their students, and ANSWER will facilitate sponsor visits to Nepal for those interested in meeting their students in person and seeing the country firsthand. The goal is to break the cycle of poverty that so many Nepalese families have been trapped in for generations. Also impressive, ANSWER has transferred the administration of the program to some of its successful graduates. “Nepal board members are all ANSWER graduates! Having been sponsored students themselves, they have a unique understanding of the organization and are “Paying It Forward” by volunteering their time to help other ANSWER students in need reach their highest potential. They meet monthly to review ongoing activities, discuss emerging issues, and reach collective conclusions that best serve the needs of current students, alumni, and the broader ANSWER community.” - 12/9/25 ANSWER newsletter Please contact historian@uutapestry.org if you’d like any additional information.
